Parenting Support

Parenting doesn’t come with a manual, and some seasons can feel especially overwhelming.

At The Health Hub, we provide compassionate, practical parenting support to help you navigate challenges such as:

  • School refusal

  • Anxiety

  • Parent separation and family transitions

  • Emotional regulation difficulties

  • Behavioural concerns

  • Strengthening connection and communication

  • Gaining practical tools and strategies for everyday parenting

  •

Our approach recognises that when a child is struggling, the whole family feels it. Whether your child is experiencing anxiety around attending school, adjusting to separation, or finding it difficult to manage big emotions, we work alongside you to create calm, clear and achievable plans.

Empowering You With Tools That Work

Behavioural difficulties in children can encompass a range of disruptive or maladaptive behaviours that interfere with day-to-day activities and relationships. These behaviours may include aggression, defiance, impulsivity, or difficulty following rules. Therapy, positive behaviour management strategies, and family support can help individuals and families address these challenges and build more positive behaviours.

Personalised, Practical Support

We offer tailored 1:1 parenting sessions designed around your family’s specific needs. Sessions can be held with you individually, with your child present, or as a combination — depending on what will be most helpful.

Parenting support is also thoughtfully integrated into our paediatric, adolescent and adult therapy services. If your therapist is best placed to support your parenting goals directly, they will incorporate this into your sessions. If a more focused approach is needed, you may be referred to another clinician within The Health Hub team for targeted parenting sessions.

A Collaborative, Whole-Family Approach

One of the strengths of The Health Hub is our team-based model of care. When you engage with one of our clinicians, you benefit from the shared expertise of our broader multidisciplinary team.

We prioritise collaboration to ensure your family receives consistent, well-rounded support — particularly during complex periods such as parent separation, persistent school refusal, or anxiety that is impacting daily life.

Empowering You With Tools That Work

Our goal is not just to “fix” behaviour  but to equip you with:

  • Clear communication strategies

  • Emotional coaching tools

  • Boundaries that feel confident and consistent

  • Support for co-parenting during separation

  • Practical approaches to managing school-related anxiety

  • A deeper understanding of your child’s emotional world

We aim to help you feel more confident, calm and connected in your parenting.
